Sneakers and I make a good pair (Pun intended). I made another pair of sneakers, and I’m pretty impressed with the outcome.
I used Acrylic Fabric Paint and Martha Stewart Fabric Medium. I mixed 1/4 fabric medium to 3/4 paint.
To add the small drawings I used a white paint pen and drew small triangles in a spiral pattern on the sides and top of the sneakers.
I have to admit, I had no idea where I was going with these but now that I have figured out this type of design I am excited to try and make more with paint pen design accents on them.
Now I just keep asking myself, what other amazing sneakers can I create?
I had one of those weekends where I cleaned the house, listened to tons of old episodes of This American Life(If you haven’t listened to this show, you really have to!) and made things. I’m someone who likes to tinker and makes tons of mistakes, this weekend was fairly successful.
On my trip to Colorado I picked up some arrowheads at a little thrift shop, I ended up making some necklaces out of them. I thought they turned out pretty cute.I also finished this calendar that I have been working on for the last month or so. I used chalkboard paint around the outside and then hung laminated paper from the nails. Laminating the paper lets me write on with dry erase marker. Pretty excited to decorate for each season and holiday on this.
I also had a pair of shoes I picked up about a year ago and changed the fabric color to black; using an acrylic paint and fabric medium mix. I wasn’t wearing the shoes because I didn’t have enough stuff to go with them so the black and dark brown combo makes them go with just about everything!
My weekend feels like it was a total whirlwind! San Francisco also had some great weather so I made sure to walk in Golden Gate Park on both Saturday and Sunday. This weather is amazing! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
